Teaching and Service

During my undergraduate, I gained extensive experience as a teaching assistant in computer science. As an instructor, it is extremely important to me to foster an inclusive environment, especially in STEM fields. My work to this end led to my nomination as a Teaching Assistant Trainer in Penn's School of Engineering, where I trained new teaching assistants in practices of inclusive teaching and student support.

Outside of teaching, I focus my service on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially as they surround sexual violence, which disproportionally affects marginalized individuals. I was the chair of Penn's Abuse and Sexual Assault Prevention group and represented survivors on Penn's University Council, where I advocated for clearer adminstrative transparency, centralization of resources, and improved preventative measures. I also advocate for policy reform at the university, state, and federal level. I am grateful to have had the chance to speak about these issues in this 34th Street article and this Billy Penn article.
